What an absolute gem!! Such a cute shop with beautiful handcrafted pieces of art, clothing and jewelry curated with care. I love the opportunity to support the artists and connection to Africa. We are lucky to have direct cultural access here in Noho. I took home some brass shell earrings that are stunning and great quality. Aimee is wonderful to talk to and truly invested in her community and supporting others. Parking is convenient in the garage. Highly recommend!
"Love Travels" Having a long-distance love can be a perfect opportunity to be creative! As long as love is nurtured, it will always grow. My partner, Iani, gifted me the most beautiful earrings and a lovely elephant ring from Positively Africana during his recent travels to see me and celebrate love. His choice to shop at Positively Africana was perfectly fitting, as their brand provides authentic labors of love from the beautiful, distant lands of Africa. Love Travels from hand to heart and is well nurtured by Aimee and ... read more
Positively Africana is in all ways a beauty full business. Aimee greets with a warm welcoming smile and you can't help but want to explore the shop. You can feel the potency and the effort that went into each making- can feel how beautiful one would feel in the jewelry, clothing, immersed in art. The entire experience is rooted, grounded, earthed, as is Aimee. I have procured several pieces of jewelry and get compliments when I wear them. The pieces are easy to wear, and in the cowrie shell choker I felt the connecti... read more
What a wonderful store!! What a wonderful experience Aimee provided! I purchased a ring, a bracelet, and earrings. The detail in each piece was perfection! Aimee educated me on culture and on each piece I purchased. I had long wanted some jewelry to represent my culture and Positively African provided that! I would have purchased more if I could. There was a neckless I was salivating over – but just could not afford to buy it. I will certainly be back! Thank you, Aimee, for an enlighten experience. See you later!!
I enjoyed my experience at the Positively Africana kiosk in Thorne's marketplace. Aimee was friendly and welcoming and I appreciated how she told me about the country of origin and materials of each item I looked at. I purchased a pair of bold earrings made in Rwanda from natural plant fibers.
